Old school saloon with a new school vibe. Great place to hang out with friends or locals and get to know a little bit about lone pine and the people.
We visited here when coming to trout fish in the Eastern Sierras. Now we retired here just a few weeks ago! I love the mix of people and all ages. All of Lone Pine is both slow and busy at different times of year and day and lots of locals mixed with people from all over the world! Keeping this in mind helps your experience.
Tried to get a beverage at 1 40 am while passing through. Was denied service.
Visited here before my JMT hike and after. It is an amazing little bar- the staff is super friendly and they make strong drinks! Highly recommend if you're coming through town
They've got some pretty good local beers, perfect for a quick stop after a day of hiking!
You would think because its a cute small town the bartender guy would have been much more nice and a bit talkative...
Great place to grab a drink before or after your climb or even if your just driving thru the town.
Second time going through Lone Pine, and liked this place so stopped again! Friendly place, mostly locals and all willing to talk to you. Good selection of beers, and interesting walls & ceiling! No Food served, but we came for the beer and local chat. Fun little place with pool table and another table game I can’t name.
Fresh baked muffins are amazing! My husband's meal was great got a Denver omelet. I ordered the chicken fried steak and was disappointed. The service is great.
I admire this place! They give splendid food, their menu is nice, The chief cook in that place is a specialist, I enjoy a lot tasting all their food. The food is always of high qualtity, the attitude towards the customers is good. I visit often this restaurant and I was never unsatisfied. I highly recommend it.
We always stop here, friendly, beers are cold, great atmosphere!
Friendly local bar with pool tables and shuffle board.
Great vibe!!
When you spent a night in Lone Pine and you are looking for a cold one, this place is where you have to go. We had a lot of beers and had an great evening.
This small town bar is welcoming to strangers and friendly. Pool tables and a great beer selection both on tap and in bottles.
Good bar, beer is cold, and people are friendly
Had great night there while passing through town. Look for a $2 bill with Inga & Iggy on it
The owner of Jake's is the definition of a love friend🤗😘
Friendly owner and charming ambience. Great beer selection.
Great place for a beer.
L O V E this place. Friendly atmosphere and great service. You always feel welcome!!
Foreigners not welcome! Its a nice saloon in a classic way. But you are not welcome if you are not a local, the whiskey selection is a joke and the waitress doesn’t like her job (and is not good at it). First my wife - who is 39 (!) didn t get a drink without ID (well - she could take this as a compliment) - so we had to walk back all the way to the Hotel and get it. Once back we got our drinks in the most „you are not welcome“ way. Later I payed by card with PIN .. wow. That was too much. I was commanded to enter my PIN („you come here when I tell you“) and was treated in an unbelievable way in front of others at the bar. Not enough the bill and the pen was handed over: “this is in case you want to tip me“. Hahaha... guess what ...? zero stars for the waitress.
Just beer and wine. . . That's fine, but in a western saloon I kind of expect whiskey ault last. Service is fine. Atmosphere is fine.
Friendly town bar. Pool Tournaments twice a week. Friendly bar tender and owners. Dated but Clean and welcoming.
Nice bar good on tap beer....full bar...good service!
Cold good brews and dog friendly at least on a Tues in February
Well heckling howdy do, this place was an absolute joy. Patrons and staff alike were the friendliest we've encountered and the barman even made a midori splice for us (Malibu, midori and pineapple, you have to try it). Cannot recommend Jake's highly enough.
The most fun I have had in the entire town. Bar has some fun games to play.
Saloon looks like in movies :)
Great drinks and lots of fun games. Jackie of course won 3 games of cutthroat.
I don't want to share how awesome this place is because I want to keep it a hidden gem. For the sake of the people that work there, I will give it 5 stars, and tell you it is awesome! Great beer, great service, great prices, and the locals that hang out there are some of the best people I've met in my few years in California. I LOVE this place.
Very cool Olde bar a lot of very cool people that hang out there atmosphere is good it's a little loud sometimes but hey it's a bar
Old school beer bar with swinging doors and dollar bills all over the ceiling. Don't come here for wine, hard liquor, or food. Great place for a quick beer, listening to the juke box, or playing pool, ping pong, or shuffle board.
An okay local bar with good beer selection. Aside from that nothing special... wasn't allowed to post up a dollar on the walls covered in dollars.. bartender could have been nicer.
Fun little town bar with lots charm.
This saloon is your quintessential old west bar with swinging door and six shooters on the bar. Service is great and atmosphere is top notch.
Great saloon. Gotta say, the review about the Confederate flag? The flag over the door is the original flag, with the 13 colonies. There's a British flag in the back. And lots of other flags. But no Confederate flag anywhere. I think that review is misleading, and maybe someone should Google stuff before they get offended...
Good friendly environment. Love the Sunday potluck. Beverly is the best!
Nice crouds, all age groups plus tourists. Very rustic in it's decor
We love this place ☺️
Old school watering hole in Lone Pine. Full bar, but only 6 beers on tap. Local vibe but with visitors and climbers from all over the world.Friendly folks enjoying beverages and camaraderie.
Great place for a casual drink. Service is as good as can be expected during this insane pandemic. We always stop here on the way through town.
Cool atmosphere local people are super nice.
Read a story about what the owner is doing for her employees during these hard times — we will be there to eat and drink in celebration of this fine business owner when they open back up, we are only 2 hours away
Cool we bar. Pool shuffle board and beer.
This charming small town saloon is a must stop when in Lone Pine CA, now serving liquor to add to the wine and great assortment of beer including local brews on tap and bottle. Get in on the music with the jukebox, pool tournaments, shuffle board and ping pong. Just want to relax? Take a seat at the bar or order a drink and find a seat at a table.
Cool dive bar.
I guess I never really noticed it because 1) I'm not very observant by nature and 2) I'm white and am just not programmed necessarily to process this kind of thing, but I recently went to Jake's because it had become tradition to stop on our way to and from Mammoth, and I brought my good friend for the first time. She is not white and is from the South and immediately noticed the huge Confederate flag hanging above the door. She was uncomfortable and felt that it was intimidating and that no one hangs a Confederate flag unless they want to make a statement about their values. Well, I agree and I appreciate her point of view. So, decide for yourselves what you're comfortable with, but I know that I will not be returning.
Love this place. Good beer selection and cheap pool tables.
Great bar in Lone Pine, Ca!! The bartender, Sarah is super nice, always smiling!! Great place to celebrate after hiking Mt. Whitney!!😅
